A fall getaway that isn’t full of sour grapes

Autumn is harvest time for the wine makers. Tourists and oenophiles (wine connoisseurs) are heading to Napa Valley to taste the best of the best of California wines. Napa Valley is located in Northern California. Did you know that one barrel of wine makes about 20 cases, or 1200 glasses? It’s true! “There are many famous wineries ranging from the largest estates like Domain Chandone and wine caves to mid-size and smaller family owned wineries such as Mondavi.” A great wine adventure to take part in are the wine tours given by Monica Kirk at Napadreamin. Monica gives private tours to groups of two or four  and they visit  “family owned and boutique wineries” in the Napa Valley. Monica says her focus is to help you discover the “hidden gems” that are off the beaten track.  The staff and families at the wineries you will visit are passionate about their wines and  they concentrate on quality rather than quantity.  Small production and handcrafted wines are their specialties.

You’ll have water, sewer, and electrical, and there is even free WiFi if you need it. You do need to call for reservations. There is also Skyline Wilderness Park. For $35.00 a night here you will get full hook ups. You will want to call ahead to make reservations here as well. There are other rate packages available too, so you’ll want to take a look at their website to find one to suit your needs.
