Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation FAQs: What It Means for Class A Diesel and Gas Motorhomes Over 8,500 lbs.

Are you considering purchasing a Class A diesel or gas motorhome before new regulations limit availability? RV Country, with locations across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona, has you covered. Our current stock of Entegra, Tiffin, Holiday Rambler, and other diesel and gas-powered motorhomes complies with the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) regulation. Don’t wait—secure your ideal motorhome today from RV Country, the trusted dealer for Class A and heavy-duty motorhomes!

What is the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation?

The ACT regulation, implemented by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in 2021, mandates zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) production targets for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, including motorhomes. Starting with the 2024 model year, manufacturers must produce an increasing percentage of ZEVs for vehicles exceeding 8,500 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). By 2035, this will drastically limit the availability of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles like Class A diesel and gas motorhomes.

Although the ACT regulation does not ban motorhomes outright, it restricts the supply of internal combustion engine chassis, making compliance more challenging for manufacturers and dealers alike.

Does the ACT Regulation Cover All Motorhomes Over 8,500 lbs.?

Yes, the regulation applies to most medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, including Class A and Class C diesel and gas motorhomes. Popular brands such as Entegra, Tiffin, and Holiday Rambler are impacted, as are any motorhomes with a GVWR exceeding 8,500 lbs. Emergency vehicles, school buses, and certain light-duty vehicles are exceptions to these rules.

For Class A and other large motorhomes that rely on heavy-duty diesel or gas chassis, these changes will significantly impact future availability in California and other CARB-aligned states.

How Does the ACT Regulation Affect RV Country’s Inventory?

RV Country’s current inventory of diesel and gas motorhomes, including Class A models from Entegra, Tiffin, Holiday Rambler, and more, remains compliant with ACT requirements. These vehicles are available now for purchase and registration in California and other states adopting ACT standards.

By purchasing now, you can secure a high-quality diesel or gas motorhome before stricter regulations further limit availability. Our inventory caters to RV enthusiasts who prioritize luxury, performance, and reliability.
