It’s almost Halloween, and just because you’re in your RV doesn’t mean you can’t decorate and celebrate! Some RV parks go all out and offer all kinds of fun activities every weekend throughout October, so why not join in the festivities? Don’t let your smaller quarters, lack of storage space, or tight budget keep you and your family from really doing it up! There are so many simple and affordable solutions to help you get in the Halloween spirit. First of all, drop in to your local “dollar store”. Dollar stores are a great resource for seasonal decorations at unbeatable prices. You can find strands of lights, banners, spooky spiders, plastic jack-o-lanterns and more for only a dollar! Pick up a few small gourds to paint or carve, and set them around your patio. A bail of hay is a great way to kick it up a notch, and paper ghosts can be made by hand and hung from trees or awnings. Do you want to dress up, but don’t want to spend a small fortune on costumes? Local thrift stores are always a great place to put together inexpensive costumes, and your imagination is the only limit. If you don’t want to hassle with storing those items when the holiday has passed, you can simply donate them right back to the thrift store. Make sure you have plenty of goodies on hand for any of the little trick or treaters that may be roaming from coach to coach in the RV park, and that means grab a bag of candy at the store, or if you really want to impress, you can click here for some fun and frightful Halloween recipes. Your RV park may or may not have a whole host of games and activities planned. If they don’t, you may want to plan some fun of your own and invite the neighbors to come play. It can be as simple as bobbing for apples, reaching your hand into “mystery boxes” full of ooey-gooey guts, or pin the nose on the jack o’lantern. You can get several small pumpkins and some inexpensive washable paints and have a pumpkin painting contest. Number the pumpkins and invite the whole RV park to come vote for their favorite. The winner can win a giant candy bar, or a crisp ten dollar bill… Whatever your choose! Celebrating on the road doesn’t have to be a hassle and it doesn’t have to be expensive, so don’t let RV living keep you from celebrating full throttle.
