Did you know it’s estimated that 75% of RV’ers travel with their pets?! That’s a whole lot of pet lovers out there! Pets bring so much love and joy into our lives, and it’s our job as responsible pet owners to give it back to them and provide them with the best care we can. An excellent resource for travelers who are pet owners, is PetTravelCenter.com. If you travel with pets and you haven’t yet visited their website, I recommend you get on over there asap. They have so much information to help keep your pets healthy, happy and safe while on the road, including many things you may not normally think of… Like, should your pet be in a carrier or should your be using a pet seat belt? What should you have in your pet first aid kit? And what veterinary clinics are in the area you’re traveling to? Just as we make sure to take care of ourselves and the rest of our family, our furry family members (no, I don’t mean your husband) need us to think ahead and plan to care for them as well. In addition, you’ll find links on the site to many pet-friendly campgrounds all across America. You just search by the state you’re visiting, and a list of pet friendly accommodations is at your fingertips. They also offer a reminder to call ahead to your RV Park because “pet-friendly” doesn’t always mean they welcome every breed. There may be restrictions that you’ll need to know of ahead of time. With everything you need from doggy life jackets, to bedding, to pet stairs, this website is a one-stop shop for everything pet travel related. Do you have any pet travel tips you’d like to share, or a picture of your pets on the road? You can share it with us on our Facebook page!
