If you’re looking to add a little culture and fun into your families life before settling in for the winter, there’s still time to visit the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) in Albany, Oregon. Albany is an incredibly beautiful town of about 50,000 people, situated in the heart of western Oregon’s Williamette River Valley. While there is much to see and do in Albany, it is probably best known for its unparallelled theater, the OSF. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a not-for-profit professional theatre founded in 1935. Their season runs from February through early November, and they have three theatres: two indoor stages, the Angus Bowmer Theatre and the Thomas Theatre, and their flagship outdoor Elizabethan Stage, which opens in early June and runs through mid-October. They offer 11 different plays that include four by Shakespeare and seven by other classic writers, as well as modern and contemporary work and world premieres. When you visit you can see one or two plays, or up to nine plays in one week! Currently there are seven plays which are running until November 2nd or 3rd. Tickets for most performances start around $25 and go up from there. Before or after your play, you’ll want to set a side some time to walk around the lovely downtown shops. From cozy cafes to local jewelers and artisans, there’s so much to see and do downtown. Ashland has many RV parks for you to chose from, but according to Yelp and Google Reviews, Glenyan RV Park and Campground has the highest rating. Glenyan RV Park is pet friendly, and is located on Hwy 66 in Ashland. Featuring both full and partial sites, the RV park offers many amenities such as a heated pool, restrooms/showers, horseshoes, a store, a playground and wifi.
